Cheap Flights to Shanghai

Travelers from around the world flock to Shanghai for its remarkable mix of old and new. Initially, exploring this city of 24 million people seems daunting, but once you've got your bearings you'll find yourself slurping on dumpling soup, haggling at local markets and ambling through the city's many parks just like the locals. With two international airports and direct connections to many Canadian cities, Shanghai is an ideal Asian destination for Canadian travelers. Ticket verification

Best Time to Book a Flight to Shanghai

The ideal time to visit Shanghai is in the spring or fall. During these months, the temperature is comfortable and the humidity level can be endured by most travelers. The first week of October brings the exciting National Day celebrations, which include strolling along The Bund (a waterfront walkway in the city center) before taking in a spectacular fireworks display. The spring sees the world-famous International Tea Festival and the picturesque Peach Blossom Festival. If you plan to visit during these busy times, use Skyscanner's hotel search to book your hotel rooms well in advance.

Airports in Shanghai

Shanghai has two international airports. Most international flights fly into Shanghai Pudong International Airport, which is located 40 kilometers east of the city center. The airport consists of two terminals connected by an interior walkway that is equipped with moving sidewalks. During the day, regular metro service and shuttle buses connect the airport to the city center, while a dedicated night bus also provides after-hours services. Shanghai's secondary international airport, Shanghai Hongqiao Airport, which is situated closer to central Shanghai. This airport is primarily for domestic flights, or international flights coming from nearby Asian countries. More than five different buses link Shanghai Hongqiao Airport to the city center. Both of Shanghai's two international airports have all of the essential travel services, including currency exchange offices, ATMs and car rental services
