As the polyurethane’s strong adhesion to metal and other materials, the removal of products from the mold is an important key while we are doing polyurethane RIM molding.

There are two polyurethane release agent in RIM moulding: external release agent and the release agent. In order to ensure the smooth removal of products from the mold, the usual way is to use external polyurethane mold release agent. And the commonly used external release agents are paraffin and methyl silicone oil, which can be dubbed into a solution, easily coated to mold economically. A 2% to 10% hydrocarbon solution of polyethylene wax can also be used as an external release agent for RIM polyurethane materials such as car bumpers. If the parts will be painted, we must be careful with silicone release agent, otherwise it can not be overall coated.
